Project Story

Joakimhurst is dark fantasy animation series which takes place within the fictional world of Phonicia, where a civil war has split the land into west and east. The western part of the continent is a magic/steam-punk world, controlled by the Stwartpoint government. The eastern part is controlled by the Mithraic church of light.

Soon after the war started, a crimson blood-like liquid started pouring out into the streets of the great city of Joakimhurst, followed by a plague, and people affected by the Joakimhurst strain started to mutate, cry blood, and in some rare cases, even grow limbs and eyes on their bodies.

The mutants, referred to as the “Joakimers” became hostile and some turned into abominations. The city was then evacuated to the nearby cities, but even the survivors started showing symptoms, and the whole state was affected. In 1187, a battle started against them in which the government of  Stwartpoint and the church worked together, fighting on two different lines.

The battle was lost and the whole state was quarantined by a 40-meter wall, which was created by the aid of the clerics of light and the sorcerers of the west.

The city was now in a state of quarantined and the problem was set aside for now.

As the cold war between the two sides is turning into a hot one and as the drums of war are being heard again across the land, a mercenary group called “The Snake’s Tail” decides to journey to the forbidden state, now home to only man and beast.

This project will eventually become a multi-season show on Amazon Prime but as of now it will be a 12-chapter comic book for the first arc.
